Gale Stockwell (1907–1983) was an American painter known for his regional landscape and town view paintings, as well as commercial art. He studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and was a cartoonist for his high school paper. During the Great Depression, he was hired by the Public Works of Art Project in 1933, which provided financial support to struggling artists.
