Charles Howard (1899–1978) was an American painter born in Montclair, New Jersey. He returned to the United States in 1925 and settled in New York, where he supported himself as a painter in the decorating workshop of Louis Bouché and Rudolph Guertler. As a member of the artistically renowned Howard family, Charles Howard made his mark both locally and internationally as a first-generation Abstract-Surrealist painter.
